One mom, three boys!

I don't know how on earth my sister does it!  She runs a house and takes care of these three handsome boys!  I had a blast taking the White Family photos a couple of weekends ago.  They are a fast moving and fun group.  I also think I have two of the most darling nephews ever...I am a little bias though!

My Favorite Photography Tips & Tricks :: Week One - Get Down On Their Level

Week One - Get Down On Their Level

When you are taking photos of your kids get low.  Get down where you can see their precious face!  I don’t know about you but I see the top of my 4 year olds head all the time!  She stands next to me all day so every time I look over, BAM, curly golden locks.  I love to see her smiling face and pretty eyes, so why not get down there on her level!

See how much better that is?!

P.S.  I can not tell you how many parents I saw at the park this afternoon taking cell phone photos of their kids on the ground playing in this sand box from a good 5 feet above their heads!  Get down there folks, you won’t be sorry!  I promise!

Sweet Baby Kai

Oh! Boy!

Just look at these wee tiny fingers!

And adorable little cheeks!

And oh so cute little legs and toes!

I had so much fun taking photos of this sweet little guy this weekend!  I had forgot just how tiny and adorable new babies are.  Even though I promised my husband I wouldn't, I came home with a serious case of baby fever!

Are you expecting a wee one soon?  This is a great time to get your shoot penciled in!

Photo sessions include:
Between one and two hours of shooting time, but I know babies need a little extra time to get comfortable so we won't rush them!

Who's having a baby!?!?

Awe, babies, I love them.  A lot!  I want to take photos of babies more often.

Self admittedly I am not a "newborn" photographer.  I have taken photos of babies and a few itty bitty babies before but most of my baby photography was in a hospital setting.  Mostly babes with their Mom and Dad documenting their birth story.  I love taking photos like that for family and friends.  They mean a lot to families after they go home because most times new Moms and Dads are so exhausted they really don't remember all the little things from the first few days of a new babies life.

Just look at how smooshy and beautiful little ones are!  If you are interested in letting me take some newborn portraits send me an email and we can talk about a little price break.

Jump!

This weather is just absolutely amazing!  I have been out in it as much as humanly possible this past week!  I am trying to soak up the sun and store it away it's warmth and happiness!  I can feel that the rain is near.  Don't get me wrong, plying in puddles is just as much fun as leaves, and maybe even a little more entertaining but it sure is a heck of a lot colder!

I still have a few openings this fall if you want to squeeze in and get a few photos of leave (or puddle) jumping!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and get to play outside with your friends and family!

Up, up and away...

The girls and I had fun yesterday playing with chalk!  I have a lot more of these I'd like to do...I think this will be my go to dry day activity during the winter.  I just need to find something equally as fun for the wet days coming up!

The Thompson Kids

I had the best time with these two!  We jumped and played all morning and even escaped the rain drops!  Oh how I wish I had the tenth of the energy they have!

Yay for babies!

Marie and Travis are two of my very favorite people.  I took their engagement photos in the fall, their wedding photos in early summer and tonight a quick snapshot to announce their next big adventure!  I am so incredibly happy for the two of them!  Babies are the best and I know a little boy who is stoked to be a big brother!

Rogers Family Session

Oy with the cuteness already!!!  I love this family more than words!

Deal Family Photo Session

This family is just too cute for words!  I can't get over how lovely their little girls are!  I could just smoosh them...in the very best possible way.

Don't forget our Mini Session special is about to expire!  I have very few spots left open in the next week or so.  Don't miss out on this great price!

Mr. Cheeks

Mr. Cheeks is one of the most adorable little guys I have taking photos of in a long while!  And they don't call him Mr. Cheeks for nothing, when the little guy smiles he has the most cute squishable cheeks around!  Gaaaa...so cute!  Oh yeah, and his Mama is pretty drop dead gorgeous too!

Mr. J's Mini Session

Taking photos of kids is the best!  Best, I tell you!  Even when they really don't want to get their photo taken I can usually get a smile or two out of them.  This kid was awesome even though he thought being a model was some form of rare punishment!

Because, Teddy is important too!

Emily loves Teddy.  She loves Teddy more than anything in the whole wide world.  Teddy has seen better days, but he has been on many adventures.  He goes to the beach, Grandma and Grandpa's house, Nana & Papa's, and the grocery store.  Teddy has been to the doctor, the dentist, the pharmacy and school.  He never leaves Emily's side and he needed his very own photo in this family photo session.  And, yes, even though Teddy is a boy, this Teddy wears a princess dress.

Ellie and the purple hair!

My daughter decided a little while ago she would like to have short hair!  I think it was mid combing after bath time on one particularly tangly hair night!  She also decided she would like a purple stripe put in it!  The short hair was got a thumbs up from my husband, the one who has to brush hair every morning, but the purple stripe took a little more convincing.  After some talking Dad into it  we made an appointment with Marie and got 11 inched cut off and a purple stripe put in!  She LOVES it.

How did she get so big?!

I can not believe my biggest little one is almost done with kindergarten!  She has grown up so much in the last school year!  She learned to read, add and subtract.  She has made so many friends and talks on the phone!  She is 5 inches taller and just a few pounds heaver.  My wee one is turning into such a little lady!  At the beginning of the school year she wanted to work at a zoo petting all the baby animals, now she wants to become a children's librarian who has read all of the kids book in the world!  They really do grow up so much faster than you think.
