A Little Bit of Sunshine

She's a little bit of sunshine,
She's a smile to light your days,
She will steal your heart and
keep it with her warm endearing ways,
She's your precious little daughter,
With a sweetness from above
Who will fill your years with laughter
and your lives with lots of love

Taking pictures of babies is one of my very favorite things on earth!  Last week was so much fun!  This little miss was an absolute doll!  More photos here.

Shop Local & Save

Shopping local is important for our community.  Supporting local business keeps money local and lets us all thrive.  I would like to encourage you to shop local all summer long.  Bring me a business card from a small local shop you frequent to save 10% on your next photo shoot!  This offer is good until August 31, 2015.

Here are a few of my favorite small businesses...
Lemon Kissed
It's A Sticky Situation
Marie Lambert, Hairstylist
Big T, Tattoo Artist

I can't wait to see some of your favorite places around town!  Let's get out there and support our community.

Boys just want to have fun!

Being the mom of two little girls I forget sometime just how awesome little boys are!  These are two of the sweetest little guys around.  Their giggles make my heart happy not to mention my camera!

One mom, three boys!

I don't know how on earth my sister does it!  She runs a house and takes care of these three handsome boys!  I had a blast taking the White Family photos a couple of weekends ago.  They are a fast moving and fun group.  I also think I have two of the most darling nephews ever...I am a little bias though!

Coloring Page!

Our local library just put together a little coloring station in the kids section.  I noticed today when we were there coloring they had a lot of "leftover" paper for coloring on.  I know most kids don't mind, but I thought taking a few hundred of these for the kiddos to color on for a few weeks would be kinda fun!  I'll also pitch in a case of crayons and some other fun little crafty things as well.  Do you want a picture frame coloring page?  Click Here to download one!

My Favorite Photography Tips & Tricks :: Week Two - Read Your Camera Manual!

I know a lot of people will tell you that you have to have a fancy camera to take great photos, and while this has a little bit of merit I think knowing how to use your camera is just as important as what kind of camera you are using.

The first step in knowing how to use your camera is to read the manual.

Now, I'm not saying you need to read it cover to cover...although there are some folks who think that is the way to go...I'm not really one of them.  I think most camera manufactures now a days make the instructions pretty clear and most of them have a quick start guide.  Start there.  Play around.  Ask questions.  The more you shoot the more comfortable you will become.  Then, turn some of the knobs, push some of the buttons that are unfamiliar to you.  Look them up in your handy dandy camera manual!  I guarantee you will find some new settings that you will love and that will make your photos better.

Also, don't leave that manual in the box at home, put it in your camera bag.  Take it with you.  You never know when it will come in handy!

Don't have your manual anymore?  Don't worry.  You can find most of them in PDF form on the web.  Or contact the camera manufacture and ask for one.  I have found that most of the camera biggies will be more than happy to help you!
